Dear Donatus / Bush Routes.
We are safe and happy back home again. We
enjoyed the trip very much. Well organized,
very good driver/guide and cook. Relaxed
atmosphere. Beautiful parks, nice camping
sites, and we have seen an incredible amount
of animals. So we are very satisfied with it
all.
We wish you all the best with Bush Routes
Adventures and may be we will come back one
time to Tanzania (you never know)
Best regards
Jaap Maltha

Thanks for giving the oppoertunity to
respond.
We had a very good safari; all enjoyed the
trip. Omari and Jeffry were good company and
they knew their job. Omari drives carefully
and has special eyes to spot animals and
good humour, while Jeffry has developed
skills that will make his wife jealous. Good
couple to be with.
I do have a few points that you should
consider. Just points for further
improvements.
- The programme needs to be a bit more
clearly written. I am sure you are using a
standard format of a safari that you change
according to the customers wishes. Ensure
that the wishes appear correctly in the
programme that you send them; finetuning.
- suggest you add water to the list of items
that you provide.
Donatus, otherwise we have enjoyed the
safari with your company very much. I am
giving your email address to those wanting
to go on Safari in Tanzania.
Success with the company and all best in
life.
Yours

Subject: Fw: Feedback
Safari to
Tarangire, Ngorongoro Highlands, Lk Natron
and Ol-Donyolengai.
We had
an absolutely fantastic time.
The whole
itinerary ran smoothly. We did not have to
wait for agreed pick-ups, there were no
misunderstandings, everyone who was part of
this tour turned up as promised and planned
and on time - indeed more helpers were added
where needed (e.g., an extra donkey turned
up, someone emerged to lead us to the
Waterfall Camp and then guide us to walk to
Lake Natron). There were no issues in making
minor changes to the programme, or taking a
little longer at one place and speeding up
elsewhere.
We had full
confidence in Rama, our driver (the
condition of the car was a completely
separate issue, which he dealt with as best
as he could), and in Buga, our cook and
trekking guide. These two were friendly and
helpful without limit. It was real fun being
with them. Buga did a great job cooking for
us on the trek, acting as our interpreter,
and explaining the local way of life.
Burunge
Lodge was really nice with a nice view. It
was the most comfortable place that we
stayed in (and the only one with hot water
apart from Ngorongoro). It's a shame that it
was so far from Tarangire main gate - solved
partly by later arranging to exit and enter
through the ranger post (this route was
still 30 mins away but did give a chance to
see the local people and their homes and
animals). The main road to the main gate was
miserable. A very nice stay. But probably we
would recommend staying within the reserve .
Ngorongoro
Lodge was a bit weird, but had the most
fantastic view from that huge bedroom window
over the whole crater. Fine.
We adjusted
the trek somewhat on Buga's suggestion and
stayed 2 nights at the Waterfall camp
instead of one. We saved that extra day by
driving (rather than walking) to Empakai,
stopping on the way at Olmoti crater for a
quick guided walk up to the rim. Having two
days at Natron was a good idea, giving us
time to relax a bit and walk the whole way
to the camp from the pick-up point rather
than driving, and to walk to Lake Natron the
next day (Rama picked us up for the return
from
the lake - that would have been a
killer in the heat!). Both of these
relatively short walks were tough, across
the sand in the heat avoiding dust-devils
and dead cattle on the way - but so
satisfying. The walk from Empakai to Acacia
camp, and the next day from there to the
defined pick-up point by Natron/Lengai (and
then walking further to the camp) were
astounding - words fail me. What an amazing
area this is!!
KSBeach was
very good. Probably the best food of the
holiday. The diving was great. We both did 4
dives - Susanna with the help of Wade, the
divemaster, who took her down and gave her
confidence; we dived as a buddy troika
mostly. Great corals ... and so many Crown
of Thorns! Very nice staff there. We did two
nice walks through many smiling people and
their homes and fields from the northern end
and the western beach of the peninsular back
to KSB.
We managed
to hitch a ride (with minutes to spare) with
the pilot of the DC3 to Zanzibar and again
later to Dar taking it in turns to sit up
front on both flights - what fun!!!
This was
very well organized.
Well done!!
Missing it
tremendously. ... (every now and then some
of the photos will appear on face book).
All the
best
Alan
