Sable Mountain Lodge
Accommodation.
The camp is small and intimate with emphasis placed on a
true wilderness experience combined with warm
hospitality. Eight stone cottages are spaciously
situated over the Beho Beho hillside. Each cottage
provides stylish accommodation, the design element of
which is in keeping with the surrounding natural
environment. Each contains full en-suite facilities, 24
hour solar lighting, a spring water supply and wonderful
views from a private verandah over the forest towards
the distant Uluguru mountains. The lodge also offers
three tented bandas raised up high on wooden platforms
to afford the best possible views. For something extra
special, there are two honeymoon suites thoughtfully
designed to guarantee an unforgettable romantic bush
experience.
Sable Mountain Lodge
Facilities.
There are two restaurant and bar areas at Sable
Mountain. One is situated at the top of the hill and
caters for the tented accommodation . The other is based
at the lower end of the camp and caters for the stone
cottages. The former is situated near the swimming pool
and lodging terrace affording fantastic views of the
game rich hills and the path through the valley used by
animals.The latter is close to the tree house which
overlooks a watering hole and is also just a few steps
from our star gazing snug, the ideal place to observe
the pristine night sky and experience the sounds of the
bush. This open air restaurant serves international
cuisine, and has a well stocked bar, the perfect setting
to unwind before dinner. A solar fridge ensures that
drinks are long and cool.
There is a natural spring water swimming pool situated
at the top of the hill, close to the tented
accommodation and honeymoon suites which offers a fine
way to cool off between safaris.On the South side of the
camp, there is a tree-house overlooking a waterhole.
Regular evening guests include elephants, buffalo, and
zebra and in the months of November and December the
rare sable antelope emerge from the hills seeking water.
Honeymooners at Sable
Mountain Lodge.
We have two tented honeymoon suites elevated on a wooden
platform on top of one of the Beho Beho Hills at Sable
Mountain Lodge. These are located away from the rest of
the camp and afford total privacy and spectacular views.
Each suite is open faced so you can lie in bed and gaze
out at the bush. A screen can be closed if the calls of
the wild sound a little too close.
Fully en suite with a wooden decking balcony, each suite
provides outstanding views over the forest, offering
both seclusion and tranquility.
The outdoor shower overlooks the valley giving a true
bush experience.
