Kisampa
Tented Camp in Saadani National Park
Kisampa is rustically elegant in its simplicity. Up to 12 guests can be
accommodated in 'bandas' or cottages. These are spacious areas with no
walls under a thatched roof. Each has a spectacular bush outlook and an
en-suite bathroom and toilet. The showers are open to the sky.

of activities at Kisampa is endless - game drive either by night or by
day, bush walk along the dry river beds, assist with the community bee
keeping project, go fly camping; help with anti poaching activities,
bird watch, take a picnic, star gaze. You can also visit the villages
close by where you can meet rural Tanzanians unspoiled by mass tourism,
and see the schools, the clinic and the market.
You feel you have escaped the world when you visit Kisampa’s
exclusive conservation sanctuary in the Saadani / Zaraninge ecosystem.
Here the wilderness camp is comfortable and rustically elegant in its
simplicity, reflecting the owners' desire to leave a minimal human
footprint in this wilderness area.
Kisampa is set in a pristine wildlife area, which features the Wami
River; ox-bow lakes, riverine forests, and wild rolling hills and steep
ridges that provide breathtaking views of the surrounding areas.
Wildlife in the area includes lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, various
species of gazelle and antelope, hippo, crocodile, and a multitude of
other mammals, reptiles, and abundant birdlife.
Bordering Saadani National Park, (where the majestic bush meets the
romantic beach), the opportunities to get close to nature are endless.
Kisampa has countless walking and hiking trails, which can be as long or
as short as guests desire.
The option for fly-camping is also offered. With eight kilometers of
river forming the southern boundary of the property, guests can gently
canoe the Wami, search for tiny semi-precious gems in the sandy river
beds, fish...or just relax and enjoy the environment. Kisampa is more a
way of life than a location. Kisampa Camp is a privately run family
enterprise priding itself on commitment to the local community and
