Tarangire Safari Lodge or Camp, is built on top of a high bluff with a breathtaking panorama, our lodge is superbly located in Tarangire National Park, providing one of the best views in Africa. Carving out the landscape below the lodge is Tarangire River, a favorite watering place, which attracts impressive numbers and variety of game.Those wanting something a bit more active can take a dip in the pool, a bird walk around the lodge grounds or hunt for souvenirs in the Baobab boutique.
There are luxury twin tents combine the authentic safari atmosphere of ‘nights under canvas’, with more modern comforts of electric light and en suite bathrooms with hot water. We also have bungalows that provide the space and convenience of solid walls yet blend into their surroundings by using local stone and echoing the traditional round Maasai huts.

Tarangire Safari Lodge is superbly located in Tarangire National Park in northern Tanzania. The Tarangire River carves out the landscape below the lodge, attracting impressive numbers and variety of game to the watering place.
The lodge's position allows you to appreciate Tarangire's diverse wildlife without leaving the comfort of your outdoor patio, as the dynamic scenes of nature unfold before you.

At the heart of the lodge are the high thatched roofs of the lounge and dining room. The open-sided design allows an uninterrupted view of the landscape and wildlife below, and captures the cooling breeze while you dine on home-cooked safari cuisine.

The cozy lounge area at Tarangire Safari Lodge, furnished with oversized armchairs made from the weathered wood of old Zanzibar dhows, is the perfect place to curl up with a book or swap safari tales.

Tea and coffee is complimentary at all times, while local beers are served up and cocktails are mixed at the well stocked bar. Those in need of outdoor recreation can take a dip in the pool and sunbathe on poolside lounge chairs. The waterslide and splash pool make this area popular with kids.

The well-stocked gift shop is the essential stop-off for some souvenir shopping, filled with books on African wildlife, culture, and history, and a unique mix of handcrafts made by local artisans including clothes created with local fabrics, colorful textiles

Wildlife in the Park
Tarangire is perhaps best known for its large herds of elephants. The park is home to around 2500 elephants and herds of more than 200 have been viewed from the lodge veranda. With its varied habitats and permanent water in the Tarangire River the park is home to a large diversity of wildlife; 94 species of mammals, and over 500 bird species have been recorded in Tarangire.
