Island Lodge is situated on a picturesque beach in
the Mafia Marine Park, Mafia Island Lodge invites
you to take a plunge into warm, tropical surrounding
waters to relax and enjoy the beautiful natural
surroundings.
The Mafia Island Lodge stands amidst tall palms on a
sandy beach on Chole Bay, in the heart of the Mafia
Island Marine Park near Utende Village on the south
coast of Mafia. The lodge is built on the best
location on Mafia Island, and was the original and
first accommodation on Mafia Island. Mafia Island
Lodge has become the apex of providing superb diving
experiences at reasonable costs and attracting
international divers from all around the world to
the unexplored waters of Mafia Island and
surrounding reefs.
Mafia Island is approximately 30 miles off the
Tanzanian coast, about 45 minutes by air from Dar es
Salaam and one hour from the Selous Game Reserve and
Zanzibar Island.

• Mafia Island Lodge has 40 comfortable rooms, set
among the swaying coconut palms on the white sandy
shores of Mafia Island Marine Park. 36 rooms at the
lodge have their own veranda overlooking the bay and
two of the suite rooms have large living rooms for
those guests who desire extra space for added
comfort.
• The rooms at Mafia Island Lodge are
air-conditioned, and have en suite bathrooms with
running hot and cold water 24 hours a day.
• Other facilities at Mafia Island Lodge include
fax, telephone, laundry and conference facilities.
• An airy dining room, cozy bar and large terrace
facing the ocean creates a relaxing and peaceful
atmosphere at Mafia Island Lodge. The cuisine is
continental with an emphasis on seafood. A variety
of meals including Swahili dinners, snacks and
sandwiches are also served. A selection of alcoholic
beverages, wines, beers, juices and sodas are
available at the bar. Meal times are follows:
Breakfast is served 07.30 - 10.00 am; Lunch is
served from 12.30 pm; Dinner is served from 8.00
pm.
