Manta Reef Lodge in Pemba
Manta Reef Lodge is set in a pristine location that
will appeal to sea safari fans, divers,
honeymooners, fisherman, and beach lovers alike. The
property and rooms are located directly overlooking
the beach, with the original tropical forest on the
high tide limit, home to birds, monkeys and bush babyies. The white soft sandy beach captures the
brilliant sunsets day after day, and closes every
day with new and sensational experiences.
Manta Reef Lodge is located on the Ras Kigomasha
peninsula, just north of the Ngezi Forest, and is
reached from either Chake Chake Airport or Mkoani
Port by road, which takes approximately one to
one-half hours. The island is also accessible via
the mainland by boats from Tanga in Tanzania and
Shimoni in Kenya through the port of Wete.

• The sea front bungalows at Manta Reef Lodge are
perched on timber platforms, directly open to the
ocean in the front, with stunning views of the sea.
Guests awaken in the morning to the sea waves on the
beach and birds singing in the trees, and in the
evenings, fall asleep to bush babies (lemurs)
cackling away in the trees. There are a total of ten
sea front bungalows, two honeymoon bungalows and two
family garden cottages.
• Each bungalow, with ensuite bathrooms, is 50
square meters ,and is furnished with large beds,
mosquito nets, verandah couch and chairs.
• The sea front rooms have been conscientiously
designed to have no windows, thus opening up the
room to plenty of fresh air. The tranquility, space

• The spectacular setting of the panoramic verandah
and lounge bar is the heart of the lodge. Inside,
you can sprawl out on the mangrove funzi lounge
beds, play pool, read from the excellent house
magazine library or lay on the sun deck and tan. The
barman and staff will take care of your drinks and
meals day and night. Meals are prepared in
traditional flavors, with a specific focus on fresh
catches of the day.
