Mbweha Camp
Mbweha Camp is situated in the
privately owned, 6,400 acre Congreve Game Conservancy, in a
grove of Euphorbia Cactus. Lake Nakuru National Park is only
15 minutes away. The Conservancy is home game such as
warthogs, zebras, leopard, eland, Grants gazelle, impala,
waterbuck, hyena, buffalo, dik dik, giraffe, aardvark,
baboon and flamingo. Additionally, Mbweha Camp’s beauty lies
not only in wildlife but its natural sanctuary of its fauna,
which you can experience on your game drives, walks or
bicycle rides.
Mbweha Camp fills a space in the tourist market between the
expensive private safaris camp and the larger hotels of the
lake Nakuru Areas.
Mbweha has only 9 and tastefully furnished cottages made of
local materials - thatched roofs and natural lava rock
walls. The cottages are simple, but comfortable, with
ensuite bathrooms and 12 volt solar lighting.
The bush restaurant and the bar
are spacious and include a lounge. There is an open
fireplace, a pool table, darts board and several board
games. The bush restaurant serves a choice of tasty, freshly
prepared meals as well as game meat at reasonable prices in
a separate thatched dining room. Our bar is now stocking a
variety of cocktails that will rival any bar in the area.
And as you relax and enjoy, listen to the Maasai sing and
entertain you. From the rooms you look out at eye level over
a mown lawn area, and you can listen to the sounds of the
African night: baboons, crickets frog, and even sometimes
hyenas and lions.
