Aberdare
Tree Tops Lodge.
The Treetops is the
original tree lodge, and is world famous for its
location facing a water hole and a salt lick in the
Aberdares National Park as well as its historical royal
connection. The lodge lies at 6,450 feet above sea
level.
In Harmony with Nature -
the lodge is constructed around trees and raised on
stilts. Wildlife Comes to You - positioned in the path of
an ancient elephant migratory route. Don't Miss a Thing -
an optional buzzer alerts to spectacles at the
waterhole, at any hour.
Famous for housing Queen Elizabeth II on the night of
her ascension to the monarchy, Tree-tops Hotel offers
guests a royal treat in the heart of the Aberdare
National Park. Sheltered by a dense lichen hung forest,
Tree-tops overlooks the snowy peaks of
Mount Kenya.
You can take pleasure in
the safety and comfort of observation lounges, which may
give you the opportunity to photograph the territorial
charge of rhino, protective matriarch elephant and
bounding bushbuck.
A professional hunter can also wake you up on request
when one of the Big 5 visits the waterhole and tree
house at night.
Please note that warm clothes are recommended and
children under 5 are not permitted.
