Camp.
Tortilis Camp is a
scenic tented camp situated on a hill with
unrivalled views of Mt. Kilimanjaro from Amboseli
National Park. The double or twin beds at
Tortilis Camp are generous and comfortable.
From the dressing area a door leads into the
en-suite bathroom with a wonderful high pressure
shower, hot spring-fed water and a hush toilet.
At Tortilis Camp all you have to do is relax. It is
named after the Tortilis Acacia ( the Umbrella Thorn
Tree ), a charming rustic tented lodge built into
the side of a hill, facing the foothills of Africa's
highest mountain, Kilimanjaro. There are 17 tents on
wooden platforms have thatched roofs and private
verandas with wonderful views of Mt. Kilimanjaro,
the highest mountain in Africa Each of the spacious
tents is under thatch and has a large stone veranda
with day beds and wicker furniture.
The rooms are decorated with African rugs and ethnic
lamps and there are large en-suite bathrooms..
Tortilis Camp now boasts a resident masseuse and
separate
massage room for aromatherapy, body, face and head
massages. The
camp has a bar and open dining area, both with
excellent views
of Mount Kilimanjaro.
